3 Reviews of the Aspen 500
By: HarryBear Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2011 Rating:
It's a good, basic tent which I originally bought to take myself and my 3 children camping for short breaks. I can put it up alone (I'm 5ft 4in, not physically fit and no spacial awareness!). So far, it has only been used for a short break with my husband but other than the front door needing some velcro to stop it flapping, I can't find any faults with it. It goes up well, it stays up and it goes back in the bag without too much effort. I can fit a double Aerobed and two single SIMs in the sleeping compartment for family camping, and the living area has space for a table and a couple of chairs plus a crate of essentials.
Our original tent had quality issues but the retailer replaced it very quickly and with minimum fuss. The replacement tent is fault-free and the standard you would expect from the Outwell group.

I have used this three times this year and have had no problem. It's spacious, light and airy and is easy to pitch. One of the reasons we brought this was because of the windows in the living area and the sewn in ground sheet which keeps the heat in a little longer than our previous that wasn't sewn in. My only moan would be the large front door which can flap in the wind but some extra Velcro form a pound shop will fix that. We have been camping in this in gales, torrential rain and lighting storms and it stayed up and is still in one piece, when we packed up last time it looked like it had collapsed but when we pitched it at home expecting to repair it, there was nothing wrong with it which impressed us even more. I would defiantly recommend this tent to any one who wants to start camping.

Just come back from first weekend away in this tent. Just me and OH this time but was a great size with plenty of living space. Stood upto winds and rain!
Can be pitched single handed!
And even better fits back in the bag with no probs! And very very reasonably priced!
The only slight neg is I am going to fix some more velcro on the bottom of the door
